Cool Ideas

I figured I'd put a page out there for those things I found that could be worth some little shred of value to other builders.

This gadget is an air powered suction vacuum. The military maintainers use these things by the gross for FOD prevention and are really great for sucking chips and dirt out of very little spaces. I've found it's great for using  left-over compressor air at the end of the build session.
Pc090193.jpg (115051 bytes) Not the greatest picture, but these are various lead-filled bags used for adjusting soft weight belts for SCUBA diving. I had a whole bunch of these around in various weights (2,3,4 and 5 pound bags). These are nylon bags filled with lead shot and are very handy for holding parts in position on the bench. Available at your local dive shop.
Labels for Hardware I'd been trying to figure out how to best label all the hardware that eventually comes in these kits and after some thought I had the solution. I'm using small white storage bins and segregate the screws, bolts, washers, rivets, etc so I had to label them. The solution was to create several Word documents off templates for Avery 8167 Return Address labels. Below are the links to download the individual word docs for whatever you need. You may get prompted to enter a password for a file download, just hit <cancel> and proceed.

Rivets (All AN3 to AN6 bolts, drilled and un-drilled, sizes from -3 to -40)
Blind Rivets
Washers
Bolts
Nuts
Screws (1)
Screws (2)
Screws (3)
Misc. Some platenuts, adel clamps, and gaskets
